






Founded in 1910 Camp Fire USA is one of the nation’s premier youth development organizations, currently serving
735,000 children and youth annually. Camp Fire USA, with national headquarters in Kansas City, Mo., has 125
councils nationwide that provide all-inclusive coeducational programs.
Camp Fire USA's outcome-based programs include club programs, youth leadership, self-reliance, after school groups,
camping and
environmental education and child care. National Camp Fire USA encourages local councils to provide programs that
meet local community needs.
Camp Fire Girls were in Central Texas as early as 1920. Camp Fire USA Tejas Council received its charter in 1938 and
today serves boys and girls in a seven-county area in Central Texas. District I (McLennan, Hill, Bosque and Limestone
counties) District II (Bell, Coryell and Falls counties). With the mission to build caring, confident youth and future
leaders, Camp Fire USA takes pride in its long-standing commitment to providing educational, fun programs and
services to all children and families.
Camp Fire USA believes it is a better use of resources to build children and youth than to repair adults.
Camp Fire USA’s Five Program Principles:
