Teen Leadership is a Camp Fire USA program designed to identify
qualified high school students who are interested in preparing
themselves to serve in leadership roles in the community both now
and in the future. These 32 teens are excused from school one day
each month to participate in the program. Each month they explore a
different facet of the County in which they live. Curriculum includes
team building and leadership skill development as well as
opportunities to become more knowledgeable about the community
and its leaders. Monthly topics in Teen Leadership are many and
varied. Some issues include: Education Day, Government Day,
Health Care Cay, Cultural Day, Business Day, and Media Day.
Students must be high school sophomores or juniors to apply. The fee
for the program is $225.00 for the year. We challenge Teen
Leadership Participants to find a community sponsor for at least
$100.00. Finding a sponsorship from a local business, church or
franchise is a great way to make contacts and learn about the
community. Scholarships are available.
Teen Leadership Waco is sponsored by Camp Fire USA, The Waco
Greater Chamber of Commerce Leadership Waco, and McLennan
Community College.
