A Gift of Giving
A Gift of Giving serves students from the 76707 area which includes
schools such as Brazos Middle School, Waco Charter Elementary
and Provident heights Elementary just to name a few. Students will
develop
leadership and team work skills and a greater empathy for their
neighbors by identifying community needs and choosing a service
project.
Our projects this year have been centered around school
beautification, community building and environmental conservation
efforts by the youth served this year.
Students may choose any variety of projects as long as it assists the
community where it is deficient. Afterwards the youth will reflect on the
meaning derived from each service experience.
Learning has never been more fun with Camp Fire USA!

Students Together Accepting Responsibility (STARS)
Camp Fire USA Tejas council has a long history of serving youth in the
community of Waco. Throughout Camp Fire’s service history, it has always
had a special interested in helping the teens in our community become
leaders today. The challenges teenagers currently face are complicated and
extremely difficult. Camp Fire USA has created a program entitled STARS at
University high school to help teens be involved in the solutions of the
challenges they face. The program will focus on leadership, Self-awareness,
diversity, and violence prevention. With a carefully crafted curriculum, Camp
Fire USA formed a group of diverse teens working together to address and
solve difficult issues in their school.
"The Camp Fire program makes you realize all the potential you have to change yourself and your school. We the students think of the ideas and they help you find the resources." -Karen Ramirez, STARS 2008 Student
